ZENITH
16 November 2007
The indie and darkside group Interpol will perform at the Zenith on 21 November. They became famous in 2002 after releasing the debut album "Turn On Your Bright Lights". Its follower "Antics" was also a world hit. The music of "Interpol" is gloomy and strident but in fact it looks they don't have many reasons to feel sad as they are doing pretty well now. The band is touring in support of the new album, "Our Love To Admire". This autumn the fans of the post-punk have a chance to see them on stage in Paris. Don't miss the event at the Zenith!

OPERA NATIONAL DE PARIS
20 November 2007
The famous Opéra National de Paris restarts George Frederic Handel's Alcina. This is the version by the Canadian director Robert Carsen, which premiered in 1999. The opera Alcina was composed for Handel's first season at the Covent Garden Theatre, London and debuted on April 16, 1735.
The plot is based on Ariosto's Orlando Furioso - a medieval tale of love, power and magic. The story is in fact very intriguing: the enchantress Alcina attracts men to her bewitched island, turns them into animals and rocks once she tires of them. Ruggiero is the latest of such victims. His girlfriend Bradamante invents a plan to rescue him...what will come out of it?.. visit the Opéra National de Paris and find it out!
The leading roles are performed by Emma Bell (until 9 December) and Inga Kalna (from 13 December). Vesselina Kasarova as Ruggiero, Olga Pasichnyk as Morgana, Sonia Prina as Bradamante, François Lis as Melisso, Xavier Mas as Oronto and Judith Gauthier as Oberto are also starring. Conducted by Jean-Christophe Spinosi, the opera is a real musical masterpiece!
