Womans World Handball Championship

Handball is a game popular all over the world since the 1920s. This is a team game, with seven players on both sides trying to throw the ball in the goal of the rival team.
This kind of sport is popular with men and women alike. This month France is hosting the woman's world handball championship. The qualifying matches will be played across the country, and the final games (from 13 to 16 December) will take place at the Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy. The event promises to be spectacular and captivating.

New Sleeping Beauty

We all know the plot of "The Sleeping Beauty", the famous fairytale by the Grimm brothers: a witch curses the young princess Aurora and the latter falls asleep until a handsome prince comes and brings her back to life...
But the interpretation of Christian Grau Stef adds new details to the familiar story. In his version titled "Isabel...au bois dormant" the actors are given much liberty, what results in the complete change of characters. Besides the director introduces new burlesque situations, dancing, pantomime, cabaret, singing...accompanied to the wonderful music by Piotr Ilitch Tchaikovsky, the performance is interesting both to see and to hear!

Besides all the visitors of the event will get the latest information about the coming Global Democratic Primary, this possibility to participate in the selection of the candidate from the Democratic party.
Every American who lives abroad can participate in the Global Democratic Primary. The voting is possible through mail, email, fax and in person from 5 to 12 February. In Paris one can vote in person on 5 February at the American Church. Come and contribute to the future of the USA!

In the songs he glorifies his native country, sings about the everyday problems of the American society and touches upon political issues. Le Chant du Monde, LArt de lIran safavide

The most famous museum in Paris is hosting an exhibition titled "Le Chant du Monde, L'Art de l'Iran safavide". It is devoted to Iranian art between the 16th and 17th centuries. Visual arts and the written word are closely linked in Iranian culture, where the ultimate theme is the divine creation what finds a reflection in the literature, sculpture and paintings of this period.
The best examples of the Iranian art are on display from 5 October to 7 January in the Louvre. Illustrative films and topical conferences are also taking place.

Hip hop is a cultural movement and music developed in New York starting in the 1970s. It became popular in the Bronx and since that time the lifestyle of hip hop culture has spread around the globe. Hip hop as a cultural movement encompasses a wide array of human activities, referred to as elements, including but not limited to DJing, emceeing, breakdance, and graffiti.
Paris is hosting an annual H20 Festival, which includes a varied programme of hip-hop and dance to Le CAP and L'Espace Jacques Prévert (both within easy reach of Paris by train). Highlights in 2007 include dance duo Universal Dancefloor (16 December, le CAP).
If you think that to dance means to live and you are an ardent admirer of hip hop culture you certainly won't miss the event run from 11 to 16 December.

The Pelouse de Saint-Cloud is hosting a circus show based on this fairytale. The performance features juggling, aerial hoops and ropes, balancing feats, acrobatics, clown acts and music. Children as well as adults will be delighted by the evening full of good mood, artistic skills and wonders!
