Manga Fair In Paris

Manga are extremely popular Japanese comics. In their modern form, they appeared after WWII but have a long history in Japanese art.
In the country of the rising sun they are more than just an entertainment. Manga are daily read by millions of people so they cover a wide range of subjects (e.g. romance, sports, business, commerce, comedy, sexuality, etc.). The popularity of manga has crossed the borders of their homeland and now they are adored throughout the whole world.
Paris Espace Champerret prepared a surprise for the French manga fans. A special fair will be held in the 17th arrondissement on 8 and 9 March. The visitors will be able to buy toys, games and other topical items. Besides, original and rare manga screenings will be shown.
If you are a manga fan, don't hesitate to come to the fair!

In spite of the Internet, which exerts more and more influence upon our lives, the books are still popular.
For all people, indifferent to literature, the Paris Expo at Porte de Versailles is running the annual Book Fair (Salon du livre). From 14 to 19 March the visitors will be able to meet famous French and international writers, get acquainted with the book professionals, buy the latest books as well as to take part in the Forum's Debats, drop in at the Sciences Bar, attend the exhibition devoted to the famous Cat (a character created by Philippe Gluck) and attend the Manga village.
Don't hesitate to come to the Fair and merge in the world of the best French and international literature!
Strange World Of Man Ray

Are you fond of original and bizarre? Do you like experiments in art? If yes, then you've certainly heard the name of Man Ray (born Emmanuel Radensky). One of the founders of Dadaism and Surrealism, he was a good friend of such famous people as Picasso, Breton, Miro, Dali and Duchamp, whose influence is clearly seen in Ray's creative work.
A person of considerable talent, Man Ray was not only an artist but also a film director, sculptor and lithographer. But he is best known for his sublime black and white photographs.
The exhibition devoted to the creative work of the artist is run in Paris Pinacoteque until June 1. The display covers the whole art life of Man Ray : from the first ink drawing he made at the age of 18 up to the last pastel he drew in 1971.

From March 5 to June 2, Paris Pompidou Centre is hosting a retrospective exhibition of Louise Bourgeois' works. The American sculptor of the French origin is 96 now. She's famous worldwide due to her feministic views, original combinations of abstraction and specifics, adherence to the psychoanalysis and, of course, concept works. Mentioning the name of the author, one immediately remembers her sculpture series of spiders, which is also represented at the exhibition.

Camille Claudel is famous for her love relationships with the great sculptor Auguste Rodin. But she herself was also a very talented sculptor, who worked with marble, plaster, terracotta, onyx and bronze. From April, 15 to July, 13 the exhibition of Claudel's works is run in the Musee Rodin. Although the mental illness made her destroy the major part of the creations, about 80 of them survived. The event is an absolute must visit for all lovers of art!

A year ago the 14th arrondissement of Paris welcomed a new cabaret. It is titled "Bobin'O" and positions itself like "sexy and humorous cabaret show".
The action starts at 8 pm. At first you are treated to the variety of the most delicious dishes. Then, at about 9.30, starts the real show: almost 500 artists, more than 20 scenes, 250 costumes change like in the kaleidoscope. Don't think that the cabaret closes with the finale of the show: the merriment goes on in the bar lounge. And from Thursday to Saturday the Bobin'O Club opens its doors for you. Go out dancing on the dance floor!
