Rock Youngsters In Paris

Teenagers all over the world are crazy about this young rock stars who reached the chart tops at an incredible speed.
The band was created in Madgeburg in 2001 by a group of friends: the twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz, George Listing and Gustav Schafer. They called themselves “Devilish”, which was later transformed into “Tokio Hotel”. The guys worked hard and in 2005 they managed to get a contract with Universal Music. Their single “Durch den Monsun” hit the world charts and lifted TH to a new level of popularity.
Up to the moment TH released three albums: “Schrei”, “Zimmer 483” and “Scream”, which is in English and is much argued about by the group fans.
On 16 October they are playing at the PALAIS OMNISPORTS DE PARIS BERCY. A real treat for all pop/rock lovers!

19-21 October Paris is hosting one of the main world book festivals “Lire en Fête”. The French Ministry Of Culture carries out the festival, which is held for the 19th time. That is a three-day glorification of reading and creative writing that bring joy to people in France and all over the world. This year’s slogan sounds like “Une ville, une œuvre” (One city, one work). The festival will begin with a series of nocturnal readings.
The organizers make the festival as visitor-friendly as possible, all the events are free of charge. They will be held in France and a hundred other countries covering such places as cafes, cinemas, squares, hospitals and prisons.
This festival is usually run to great advantage that proves: reading is still all the fashion!

Want to see the person Brian May admires? Then go to ZENITH on 11 October. This evening the famous Lebanese singer Mika will set the hall on fire! The hit-maker will give a show in the course of his tour in support of the latest album «Life In Cartoon Motion», which was released on February 5. He will also perform his best songs «Grace Kelly» and «Relax (Take it easy)».
His latest album received very controversial reviews, earning one star from the Guardian and four stars in the London Evening Standard. It is interesting to mention that «Life In Cartoon Motion» received 1 out of 10 from the Drowned in Sound website, and prompted Brian May, a big fan of Mika, criticize the website for the personal attacks at Mika.

Have you ever read French fairy stories? «Fée du robinet», «Roman d’une patate» and «Histoire de Lustucru» by Pierre Gripari for example? Every French kid adores them. If you haven’t read the works you have a chance to watch a show based on these amusing fantastic stories. Since 7 October the Compagnie C’est pour de rire is performing at the Palais des Glaces with «La sorcière du placard aux balais».
The plot is quite simple: Monsieur Pierre buys a house and suddenly discoveries that it’s not empty. It is inhabited by a creature, a witch, that lives in a broom cupboard. How will the two get along with each other? Come and see the fantastic performance!

What can be better than classical music or classical literature? Only the combination of these two phenomena! You have a chance to make sure of that! Visit the Salle Pleyel on 16 October, where the national orchestra revisits Shakespeare in music with Yoel Levi as a conductor.
The name of Yoel Levi is famous all over the world. Born in Romania, he grew up in Israel and after graduating from Tel Aviv academy he began to conduct the Atlanta Symphonic Orchestra. He attained success and in 2004 won acclaim for his direction of Mahler’s symphony ¹2 «Resurrection».
Shakespeare’s works will be performed by Amel Brahim-Djelloul, soprano and Sébastien Guèze tenor. They have already done it for others such as Hugo, Chateaubriand Mendelssohn, Gounod and Tchaikovsky accompanying them with the most exciting of music.
The visitors will have a chance to listen to the works by Félix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Vincenzo Bellini, Giuseppe Verdi, Hector Berlioz, Charles-François Gounod and Piotr Ilyitch Tchaikovsky.
The concert is a real must-listen for all who love good music and literature!
